Siddharthnagar. On 29 December 1988, the 36th foundation day of Siddharthnagar district, created in the name of Lord Gautam Buddha, was celebrated. On the occasion of the traditionally celebrated Foundation Day of the district, top officials and public representatives of the district garlanded the Buddha statue installed at Bardpur Tirha along with saree and tetri and worshiped it.
Like previous years, a program was organized to commemorate the establishment along with the worship of the stupa located in Kapilvastu of Aligarhwa, in which a large number of residents of the district and Buddhist monks also participated. Congratulating everyone on the establishment of the district, MP Jagdambika Pal, as the chief guest in the program, said that Lord Gautam Buddha, who taught the lesson of truth, non-violence and peace to the whole world, spent his childhood here and the district (Siddharthnagar) was named after his childhood. Happened. This stupa is the pride of our district. Our government has brought many schemes for the development of this heritage, the results of which will be visible in the coming days.
He further said that Siddharthnagar district was created on 29 December 1988 by carving it out from Basti. Vipassana Center is being established by the Government of India at a cost of Rs 24 crore. These are the four Dhams for Buddhism. The theme park is being constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. Like Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Kushinagar and Shravasti, it will also be developed.
During this, the MP saluted the guests and distributed blankets among them. Let us tell you that Siddharthnagar district was established on 29 December 1988 at the hands of the then Chief Minister Late Narayan Dutt Tiwari. Since then, every year this day is celebrated as the District Foundation Day.
