New Delhi. Amazon on Thursday launched the new 5th generation Echo Dot smart speaker in India with better audio, ultrasound motion detection, temperature sensor and tap gesture controls.
According to the company, the new Echo Dot comes in three color variants – Black, Blue and White, which will be available for purchase from March 2 to 4 across leading online and offline stores at a starting price of Rs 4,999.
Users can use only their voice and ask Alexa in English, Hindi and Hinglish.
“We have now upgraded the audio experience and brought motion detection and temperature sensors to smart speakers. Customers can take advantage of new capabilities for a truly ambient experience,” said Parag Gupta, Director and Country Manager, Amazon Devices India, in a statement. where technology just fades into the background, like walking into a room and it just magically lights up.”
Furthermore, the company said that the 5th generation Echo Dot offers double the clear vocals and bass compared to its previous generations.
It also has an accelerometer that enables tap gesture controls, so users can tap the top of the device to pause and resume music, dismiss a timer, or end an Alexa-to-Alexa call.
With in-built ultrasound motion detection, users can automate their day by creating smart home routines like asking Alexa to turn on compatible lights or play music when they enter a room.
Furthermore, the new Echo Dot comes with an in-built temperature sensor that can sense the temperature of the room.
With this feature, users can set up helpful routines such as automatically turning on the compatible AC when it’s too hot inside or turning it off when it’s too cold.(IANS)
