The incident took place on the interstate highway on East Avenue in America and the accused was taken into custody by the police last week. Fox 61 reported that the media got the information late.
The accused person had attached a police light to the black Dodge Challenger vehicle. As soon as they saw this vehicle, Thededa police checked the registration plate of the vehicle. The vehicle was registered in the name of accused Michael Marshall. After ascertaining that the vehicle did not belong to the police or any investigating agency, the police arrested the accused.
The police, who wanted to take strict action against the accused Michael Marshall, first interrogated him. This time, the police were in for a surprise. The accused gave a surprised reply when he was asked why he installed the light which is installed on the police vehicle. There is a lot of traffic jam every day while going to office. Thus, if the light and horn of the police vehicle are put on, the traffic can move forward without any problem. So, he said, I had fitted the light of the police vehicle to our vehicle.
Michael Marshall, 43, has admitted that he does not belong to any police force. Not only that, he also confessed that he did not get any permission to use the police beacon light.
When the accused Michael Marshall was arrested, his vehicle was also towed away by the police. Later, according to the American laws, the accused was awarded Rs. 5,000. He was released on bail by the police. However, he has been warned to attend the court hearing on November 13.
According to Indian laws only VVIPs can use red light on vehicles. Central government and respective state governments have their own laws to prevent unauthorized installation of lamps on vehicles and misuse of these lamps. Violators of this law are monitored by the traffic police and fined.
