Adam Montgomery, from New Hampshire, stuffed his daughter’s decomposed body parts in a bag he took to work and threw them away as ‘old trash’. Her body parts are yet to be found, the prosecutor said.
The court was told that 34-year-old Adam, who works as a cook and dishwasher at the restaurant, placed her daughter’s organs in the freezer next to food items during his shift.
“He always brought a bag to work. He still brought a bag and kept it in the freezer. The freezer is where food and ingredients are kept. People saw him bring the bag in and take it out. But no one could guess what was in the bag,” prosecutor Christopher Nowels said, according to the New York Post.
A 5-year-old girl, Harmony, has been missing since 2019. But the police came to know about it only after two years.
Adam’s family was evicted and lived in a car. Harmony had defecated twice in the car. His estranged wife, Kayla Montgomery, told police that Adam, who was enraged, punched her several times.
Adam, who was driving a car, had eaten and consumed drugs. The helpless daughter was lying crying in the back seat of the car. She was found dead after a few hours.
Adam hid his daughter’s body in the trunk of his friend’s car, in the cooler and freezer of his mother-in-law’s house.
Later he bought saws and blades. A truck was hired to dispose of the dead body. He had estimated that if the body was not found, he could escape from the police.
He had argued in 2022 that he did not kill his daughter. He had denied the allegations of dismembering the dead body and throwing it away. He accused his wife of lying to protect him. Accused Adang has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison on weapons charges. His wife Kayla was sentenced to 18 months for lying even after being sworn.
