Punjab, Amritpal Singh, chief of ‘Waris Punjab De’ organization, is contesting as an independent candidate from Khadur Sahib constituency. Amritpal Singh’s lawyer had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court to file the nomination, but the superintendent of the jail will get the nomination of Amritpal Singh, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act, done in the jail itself. .
Punjab government informed the High Court that the nomination work of Amritpal Singh will be completed on Monday. After this information, the High Court disposed of the petition of Amritpal Singh. Amritpal had approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court for nomination. He had demanded temporary release of 7 days for nomination. Currently, Amritpal is lodged in Dibrugarh jail of Assam under the National Security Act (NSA).

On February 23 last year, Amritpal and people associated with his organization had attacked Ajnala police station. After this incident, the police had registered a case against him. After this, many of Amritpal Singh’s associates were caught but he remained absconding for several days. Later, Punjab Police also imposed National Security Act i.e. NSA on him. Amritpal was arrested about two months after this incident. Since then he is lodged in Dibrugarh jail of Assam. Many cases are registered against Amritpal.
