‘Tu amor me duele’ in collaboration with Corazón Serrano, which he released a month ago, has more than three million 200,000 views. And Anna Carina is enjoying this new stage of her career, which is already announcing her fifth album, the one she has been working on with Jesús ‘el Viejo’ Rodríguez. “I am working on musical projects at full speed. I’ve released a couple of songs this year and the most recent, the remix of ‘Pídeme’ with Danni Ubeda and Álvaro Rod with a very 2024 sound,” the performer tells us, who reveals that her next album will have a touch of cumbia.

“It will be a very different product, with a very local sound that Peru listens to. What we want is to bring to the world this rich and recognized sound here in the country, which is Peruvian cumbia.”
The ‘Callao’ interpreter points out that her transition through various genres is due to the fact that she is guided by intuition and what she listens to, “and what causes me to consume at that moment and create. I have always felt very good with cumbia, I always felt very comfortable dancing it, for example, since ‘The Dream Show’. So, let’s say, I’m not afraid of mergers. I have had the opportunity to fuse with rock, ballads, Latin, urban. And I always like to do that between album and album, between song and song, always show something different, but without losing my essence.”
He adds that he achieves this by getting involved in the sessions, in the compositions. “Before I composed alone, now I compose as a team, I am always there from the conception, contributing with melodies, with lyrics, working together. My essence is not lost because I am there creating.”
Will you have another collaboration with any cumbia exponent?
Of course, I just was with Corazón Serrano. And I would love, I would really like another job. I have a lot of admiration for many cumbia singers like Marisol la Faraona de la Cumbia, Rossy War, who has been an icon, and there are so many groups top as Group 5. For me it would be a pleasure, an honor to be able to work with them at some point, but that is why I am building this stage of mine in a cumbia version.
‘Sola y bien accompanied’ was my fourth album and from there I released cigars singles solo like ‘Callao’, ‘I want with you’ and ‘Dame tu affection’. Now what I want to do is a new album and I feel ready. “I want to tell a story, I want everything to have a concept and put it together on an album.”
He points out that together with ‘Old’ Rodríguez they are creating various sessions with other composers. “Last time I was with Marcial Rey el Marshall and also with Gonzalo Camet, and so in each session we want to incorporate experienced and new composers and see what interesting and different things come out. When I went to live in Miami for a year, I was sharing with composers from various countries and it was very rich. This job is to always be observing, listening, being curious and always trying not to stay in the same thing, looking for your best version.”
