Lucknow. If a student leaves his studies in medical and dental colleges midway, he will not be given admission in the next academic session. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has abolished the rule of imposing a fine of Rs 5 lakh on students who leave medical studies in the state midway.
After which, now a fine of Rs 5 lakh will not be charged from the students who leave their studies midway. Director General, Medical Education Kinjal Singh issued these instructions to all the medical and dental colleges across the state on Friday. In such a situation, now the students taking admission in courses like MBBS, MD, MS, MCH, BDS and MDS will have to think many times before leaving their studies midway.
Let us tell you that till now medical students used to pay a fine of Rs 5 lakh and leave their studies midway and take admission in other courses in the next session. Now if they do this, they will have to wait for one year for admission because they will be barred from taking admission in the next session. NMC has implemented this rule from the academic session 2024-25.
This rule has been implemented for students studying undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality courses. The new rules have been implemented on the instructions of the National Medical Commission (NMC). This rule will not apply to students (medical students) who have taken admission in the previous academic session. They will be able to leave the seat by paying a fine and they will not be considered debarred for admission in the next session.
