The jury of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Women’s Sports announced the names of the nominees for the final list of categories for the eighth session of the award, which is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and with follow-up. Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy and President of the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Women’s Clubs.
The list includes the top three female nominees for each of the award’s eight categories for the individual and group levels, as the nomination process has witnessed a great turnout from various Arab countries since the opening of nominations for registration in all categories.
The list included, in the Best Arab Athlete category, gymnastics star Kelia Nammour (Algeria), weightlifting champion Sarah Samir (Egypt), and swimmer Farida Hisham (Egypt), and in the Best Emirati Athlete category, Ohood Al Ketbi, Ghala Al Hammadi, and Asmaa Al Hosani.
The list of the Best Emerging Athlete category included Latifa Muhammad Khalifa Al Falasi (UAE), Farida Muhammad (Egypt), and Yasmine Wahdan (Jordan), and in the Best Paralympic Athlete category, Maryam Al Zeyoudi (UAE), Rehab Radwan (Egypt), and Saifi Nasima (Algeria). .
As for the Best Athlete Mother category, which was created by the organizing committee since the last session, the list included Ruqaya Al Zaabi (UAE), Siham Al Qurm (Egypt), and Maysaa Muhammad (Syria). In the category of Best Male or Female Trainer, the list included Marwa Al-Amri (Tunisia), Mona Zakini (Morocco), and Sarah Ashraf (Egypt). In the Best Media category, only two candidates were nominated: Naima Ali (Tunisia) and Nahla Nabil (Sudan). Best team: Zamalek Club (Egypt), Baniyas Club (UAE), and Linda Kruckenberger Club (Germany).
The male and female winners of the award in its various categories will be announced on November 13, during the ceremony held in the capital, Abu Dhabi.
