Kurnool is proud to be the venue for the world’s first hydel power plant. Greenco Energies Pvt Ltd is set to invest Rs 15,000 crore in the project. He said the project would bring huge employment opportunities to the unemployed in the district. The construction work will continue for five years. The project specializes in generating solar, wind and hydel power from a single unit. The project will generate 5,410 MW. Solar power generation is 3000 MW, wind power is 550 MW and hydel power is 1860 MW.
This electricity is generated and connected to the National Grid and supplied to discoms and industries by the Oracles PGCIL / CTU Power Substation. The construction of the project will be completed in the next 5 years and power generation will start. Completion of the Rs 15,000 crore power project will provide direct and indirect employment to thousands of people. The state government has allotted 4,766.28 acres of land for the construction of the project. It has already handed over 2,800 acres to the company.
