Shraddha Walker and Aftab Poonawala, who have been living together for three years, went to Delhi from Mumbai a few days before her murder. Aftab murdered Shraddha Walker on May 18 shortly after moving there. There was a rivalry between the two and an argument over the household expenses. With the loss of love between the two, he felt that Shraddha would leave him. After this, he strangled her and cut her body into 35 pieces and kept it in the fridge. He revealed in the police investigation that the latter were disposed of one by one.
Based on the details he said, the police have recovered up to 20 body parts so far. Aftab admitted to the murder in polygraphy and narco-analysis tests. Moreover, he said that he killed Shraddha in a fit of rage after she threatened to leave him. Meanwhile, the police have stated in the preliminary chargesheet that the accused Aftab Poonawala has not been charged with criminal conspiracy. Police sources said that Shraddha killed her because the love between the two had waned and she wanted to get rid of him.
The day Haturala Shraddha and Aftab met on a dating app was May 17. Last year, there was a fight between them on the same day. But, the police explained that the reason for the murder was Shraddha’s meeting with another friend whom she had met on a dating app the night before. On the other hand, the Saket court took up the chargesheet filed by the police on Tuesday. A copy of the charge sheet was handed over to the accused. Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla adjourned further hearing to February 21 for perusal of documents. Aftab was brought directly to the court hall by the police and interrogated secretly. Media is not allowed inside. During this time, strict security has been established.
