The student from Varadaiyapalem in Srikalahasti constituency of Tirupati district has joined the sixth standard in Valmikipuram GMC Balayogi Gurukula School. Presently the student is studying in ninth standard. On Saturday afternoon, the student brought this matter to the attention of the hostel staff after suffering severe stomach pain. The hostel staff took him to Valmikipuram Government Hospital in the evening. The doctors examined her and found her pregnant.. Later she gave birth to a male child. Local doctors referred the student to Tirupati Ruya Hospital. Doctors say that the health condition of mother and child is stable. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the school staff about the incident of the student becoming pregnant and are investigating. They are investigating who is the reason for this.
There are allegations that the girl’s uncle is the reason for the girl’s pregnancy. The police are investigating this further. Details are being gathered as to why the hostel and school staff did not recognize that the girl was pregnant for 9 months. School staff brought the fact that the girl became pregnant and gave birth to the child, along with local MMO Feroze Khan, SSI Bindhumadhavi and District Collector Vijayaramaraju. The collector became serious about this incident. The staff expressed anger as to why they have not been identified so far. The Collector has issued instructions to the officials of the district education department to investigate the incident.
MMARV and SSI reached the hospital and inquired about the health condition of the girl. He was shifted to Tirupati for better medical treatment. Police are interrogating the parents and family members of the girl to know more details. More things are likely to come out in the police investigation. Criticism is coming for the negligence of the school and hostel staff who could not detect the fact that the girl was pregnant until this matter came out.
