The academy at Samarthkota covers an area of only 2.90 acres. Chief Minister Jagan responded that there were no proper facilities there. Permanently allotted land in Tirupati to the Academy. A new academy will soon be established on these lands. Buildings are to be constructed for full classrooms, hostel, administration building, canteen and other facilities.
Newly recruited IAS officers and deputy collectors at the AP Survey Training Academy are trained on land survey here. Provisional training will be provided to probationary deputy inspectors, survey assistant directors, judicial officers and other survey employees. Induction training for new entrants, refresher training for current officers, advanced survey technology training along with some specialized training.
The ambitious undertaking of the land reserve by the state government has created a situation where surveyors and revenue personnel have to undergo extensive training. That is why it seems that the Chief Minister has allotted lands in Tirupati to the academy. 11,187 surveyors were trained in the academy after the establishment of the village secretariat system.
