For owners of Apple gadgets in Russia, the opportunity to pay for ecosystem services using Mir cards has been preserved. It is still listed on the Apple website, despite the sanctions.
To change your payment method, you need to go to your Apple account settings and find the “Payment and shipping” section. After Visa, MasterCard and American Express left Russia, the Mir payment system has become an alternative for purchasing applications in the App Store, as well as subscribing to Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcasts.
Mir cards can also be linked to Apple Pay. The first credit institutions, including Sberbank, VTB, Rosselkhozbank, PSB, Post Bank, Tinkoff, implemented this technology in July 2021.
In addition to Mir, Apple owners can choose from “most” credit and debit cards, a mobile phone account through supported carriers, an Apple ID account balance from App Store and iTunes gift card redemptions, or Mir card deposits.

On March 13, it became known that since the ban on paying outside the country with cards of Visa and MasterCard payment systems issued in Russia, 35% of citizens have already expressed a desire to issue a Mir-UnionPay card with the ability to pay for services in 180 countries around the world.
In early March, the international payment systems Visa and MasterCard announced the suspension of work in Russia amid a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision will not affect the use of cards within the country. Most of all, these measures will hit Russian citizens who are abroad or are going abroad.
