San Francisco. Apple has announced that it will be shutting down the ‘My Photo Stream’ service on July 26. This means that users who are still using the feature will need to migrate to iCloud Photos before July 26. My Photo Stream is a free service that uploads the last 30 days’ worth of images (up to 1,000) to iCloud, making them accessible on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC.
Apple said, My Photo Stream is going to close on July 26, 2023.
It states, as part of this transition, new photo uploads from your device will stop a month in advance i.e. on June 26, 2023.
The company said that any photos uploaded to the service before that date will remain in iCloud for 30 days from the date of upload and will be available on any of your devices where My Photo Stream is currently enabled.
In addition, Apple stated that photos in My Photo Stream are already stored on the user’s device, so as long as they have the device, they will have the photos.
Users who want to keep their images on a specific device should save them to the photo library on that device before July 26.(IANS)
