In celebration of the opening of Apple BKC, India’s first Apple Store, the company also announced a special Apple Series. The series Mumbai Rising will continue from the opening day till the end of the summer.
The aim of the event is to bring together visitors and local artists and creatives. During these sessions the company will present programs celebrating the local community and culture of Mumbai using Apple’s products and services, it said.
According to Cyber Media Research (CMR), Apple will capture 4 percent market share in India in 2022 with 17 percent year-on-year growth in exports. Offline shopping is a critical market for retail in India. This service will benefit the majority of Indian consumers who like to touch, feel and try products before buying.

For Apple, flagship stores such as Apple BKC and Apple Saket will be crucial in driving Apple’s future growth in its core market of India. Apple’s retail stores globally also guarantee customer experience, staff service, expertise and service quality, Ram said. He said Apple’s flagship stores are experiencing strong growth as India’s premium smartphone segment is growing at double digits.
According to CMR, Apple shipped $6 billion worth of smartphones in India in 2022, including 79 percent iPhones in the super premium (priced between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh) smartphone segment. Also, India is becoming a manufacturing hub for some Apple products, including iPhones.
