Bring your dog to work day at Amazon is possible every day in the offices corporations across the country, in what has become a long tradition enjoyed by both employees and their four-legged friends.
Amazon employees in the US share a workspace with thousands of dogs.
“Having dogs in our workplace is an incredible pleasure.. They make employees smile, and we’re proud that this is such a unique Amazonian tradition,” says Lara Hirschfield, manager of Amazon’s “Woof Pack,” the team that helps make it safe for employees to bring their pets to work. . “They love taking their dogs to work and getting to know their coworkers’ dogs.”
In addition to hanging out with their owners, pets can be pampered by other Amazon employees. Also, there are lots of fun things that dogs can do on campus, for example, at the reception desks in all office buildings are stocked sweets to entertain the dogs.
On the 17th floor of a building called Doppler, the dogs have a large area where they can run, with bag stations for their physiological needsrest areas and drinking fountains to keep them well hydrated.
In 2019, the company opened a community off-leash dog park in the Denny Triangle neighborhood for employees and community dogs to enjoy, complete with rocks and other structures for the pups and their owners to play on.
Amazon notes that keeping pets in the workplace has been found to reduces stress and raises moraleBut the benefits don’t stop there. The dog-friendly policy also contributes to the company’s collaborative culture.
According to Hirschfield: “Dogs in the workplace are an unexpected connecting mechanism. I see employees in our lobbies or elevators every day because of their dogs.”
