Although there are many medicines available to cure nasal congestion, home remedies are also quite effective. Cold is also called nazla or cold and cough. This is a disease caused by infection of the respiratory system. This infection can spread rapidly from one person to another. Which spreads easily when a sick person coughs or sneezes. Cold or flu is caused by viruses that affect the respiratory tract.
Steam inhalation is the oldest and most effective method for nasal congestion during cold. Taking steam not only provides relief from blocked nose but also reduces cold. To take steam, add a few drops of eucalyptus or peppermint oil in hot water, then cover it with a towel and take steam for 15-20 minutes, this will clear the nasal passages and provide immediate relief from blocked nose.
-If you have the problem of sore throat along with nasal congestion (cold), then gargling with salt water is very beneficial. Mix half a teaspoon of salt in lukewarm water and gargle 2 to 3 times a day, this reduces swelling of the throat and provides immediate relief from blocked nose.
