Arguments completed in police court in Shraddha murder-case: Shraddha’s father said – I will perform last rites of daughter only after Aftab is punished

In the Shraddha murder case, the Delhi Police on Monday completed its arguments in the court regarding the allegations against Aftab Poonawalla. At the same time, Aftab’s lawyer has sought time to present his case in the court. The next hearing in the matter will be on March 25.

On the other hand, Shraddha’s father Vijay said that the murder of my daughter would complete one year in May. I haven’t cremated him yet. I will perform Shraddha’s last rites only after Aftab gets the death sentence.

The police lawyer said – the evidence proved the allegations
According to the news agency ANI, the Delhi Police has completed its arguments regarding the allegations against Aftab in the Saket court. Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad and Madhukar Pandey appeared on behalf of Delhi Police in the court. Amit said that the entire incident has been proved on the basis of solid evidence. The accused first killed Shraddha and later cut her body into pieces.

Advocate Javed Hussain, appearing in the court on behalf of accused Aftab, sought time to reply to these arguments. After this, Divisional Judge Manish Khurana Kakkar fixed the date of March 25 for further hearing in the matter. Vijay Walkar was also present during the hearing of the case.

Shraddha’s father said – Aftab should be given death sentence
On the other hand, after the police’s arguments were completed in the court, Shraddha’s father Vijay said on Monday that one year of my daughter’s murder would be completed in May, but till now I have not been able to perform her last rites. I will perform the last rites of my daughter only after Aftab gets the death sentence.

Vijay told that the body parts of my daughter will be handed over to him even after the case is over, but when the trial will end and when will I be able to perform the last rites of my daughter is still a question.

At the same time, Vijay Walkar’s lawyer Seema Kushwaha said that it took seven years for the Nirbhaya case to end. It should not take that long to complete the matter. Aftab was presented in the Saket court.

Shraddha wrote a letter to the Mumbai Police on 23 November 2020. In which he told that today Aftab tried to kill me.

Aftab was arrested on 2 November
Aftab is accused of strangling his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar to death in May 2022. Later his body was cut into 35 pieces and kept in the fridge. Then threw them in the forest. Delhi Police arrested him on 12 November 2022. On January 24, the police filed a 6,629-page charge sheet against Aftab in this case.

Let us tell you that during the investigation Delhi Police had done narco and polygraph test of Aftab, in which he confessed to killing Shraddha. In the case, the police recorded statements of more than 150 witnesses. The police had also recorded Aftab’s voice sample.
