New Delhi: The Indian Army has initiated several drone procurement programs over the past few months. The standoff has been ongoing for the past 33 months along the Chinese border. Due to this, the army has to carry out intensive surveillance work on the Chinese border. For this surveillance task, deploying drones is a much easier task than deploying soldiers.
The use of drones has also increased in the war between Russia and Ukraine. In the future, drones will be necessary for military surveillance work, transportation of goods to difficult places, and weapons attack.
Similarly, the Indian Army will also buy 80 RBAS-type drones that act as unmanned aerial vehicles. 10 runways will be set up for this purpose. 12 sets of A-SATS type drones for surveillance and weapon attack and 75 drones with artificial intelligence for reporting to control centers will be procured for the Army. The Army plans to deploy 7 sets of surveillance and attack drones along the Chinese border and 5 sets along the Pakistan border. Thus, the Army will purchase 850 indigenously manufactured nano drones for various tasks.
