New Delhi: For electric vehicles on national highways Charging stations Central Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said steps were being taken to set up.
In a written reply to a question from a member of the state assembly yesterday, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said:
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been taking various measures over the last two years to use electric vehicles and alternative fuels.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has waived the registration certificate fee for battery-powered vehicles.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has provided advice on the sale and registration of battery-free electric vehicles to all States and Union Territories.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced various rules / regulations regarding the emission standards of alternative fuels.
Electric vehicle charging station facilities are to be provided by the Road Development Corporation as part of the roadside facilities provided by the National Highways Authority of India.
The Commission has already provided 39 such facilities and contracts for 103 facilities are yet to be awarded. The work already provided is expected to be completed by the end of the 2022-23 fiscal year.
