Arturo Álvarez, the beloved Peruvian imitator, recently shared the reasons behind the estrangement with his brother, fellow comedian Carlos Álvarez. Although both share a career in the world of comedy, the relationship between them has always been marked by tensions. Despite attempts to maintain a cordial relationship, recent disagreements have caused a significant rift that still persists.
Arturo Álvarez affirms why he fell out with his brother Carlos Álvarez
Arturo Álvarez began his career as an impersonator shortly after his brother Carlos, and although both have dedicated themselves to the same passion, their personalities never managed to completely mesh. Despite this, Arturo assures that he always loved his brother, but that the differences in their ways made the relationship difficult.
In a recent interview on the program ‘Rondón Tolón’, Arturo confessed that, despite the tensions, they tried to maintain a cordial relationship, mainly out of respect for his mother, who has since passed away. However, what really broke the relationship was an exchange of harsh words from Carlos. “He told me a couple of sentences that I will never understand. He told me ‘I’m tired of your problems and I never want to know about your life again’. I don’t know why,” he said.
Despite the initial injury, Arturo Álvarez affirms that he has overcome the situation over time. “It stopped hurting me. It makes you stronger,” said the impersonator, who assures that although his relationship with his brother broke down, he does not hold a grudge against him.
In his statements, Arturo also took the opportunity to point out some of Carlos’s attitudes that, according to him, contributed to the distance between them. In an interview on a Trome podcast, Arturo described his brother as “superb”, highlighting that Carlos tends to make hurtful comments when he gets angry. “He is a cantankerous, irascible person. When he gets angry, he lets you off the horses and sounds arrogant,” said Arturo.
