A TikTok user went viral after claiming he was signed up for multiple credit cards by the Ashley HomeStore without your knowledge.
In a video with more than 541,000 views, TikTok user Uncle Billy John Jr. (@unclebillyjohnjr) writes: “I bought a living room set from Ashley Furniture and about 3 weeks after everything was ready, the seller signed me up for multiple credit cards without my knowledge and when i confronted the manager he said he would fix it but instead he misled me.
At the bottom of the video, he added: “True story. Do not shop at Ashley Furniture unless you want them to sign you up for credit cards without your knowledge.”
According to Billy John, he purchased a living room set at Ashley HomeStore through the company’s 12-month interest-free financing program.
“They told me it was like a car payment, not a credit card”, he wrote in a comment.
He also said he would be more understanding if there hadn’t been this misrepresentation, but there wasn’t and the seller allegedly just decided to sign him up for various credit cards.
“It would have been nice if they had told me that instead of saying it’s like a car payment,” he explained in a comment.
Many TikTok users shared their own complaints about the Ashley HomeStore.
“I worked at one and left because I couldn’t keep up with the way they treated their customers and lied to their faces”, claimed one user.
“Yes they did check my credit with a thorough investigation after I told them no,” another stated.
“I was told I was signing up for ‘Ashley financing’, it turned out to be a credit card for a completely different place. I even asked during the financing process if it was a credit card and was told ‘nope it’s just who we use to finance our furniture,’” another wrote.
