Sri Lanka: Indian captain Rohit Sharma has talked about how the Indian team is going to deal with Pakistan’s fast bowling.
India and Pakistan will face each other tomorrow (September 2) in the Asia Cup cricket match at Pallekile Stadium in Sri Lanka. It is the most awaited match of the Asia Cup 2023 tournament. And since both the teams have not played in bilateral series for more than a decade, cricket fans all over the world are looking forward to the match.
Even before the two teams clashed on the field, verbal conflicts started outside the field as usual. Many are predicting that this match will be a battle between India’s batting and Pakistan’s fast bowling attack.
Pakistan team has world class fast bowlers like Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf. Indian captain Rohit Sharma was asked about how the Indian batsmen are going to deal with these players who have the ability to beat any opposition.
Responding to this question in the pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma said, “We don’t have the likes of Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Harris Rauf. We only practice with our bowlers. But the bowlers we have are all quality bowlers. All 6 bowlers are world class bowlers. How good they are in the world.” They have proved it in cricket.
Especially since Bumrah has recovered from injury after a long day. He played well in the Ireland series. He was also good in the Bengaluru camp. More than that, he is in a good mood. That’s a good sign for our team.
Same goes for Shami and Siraj. Both have been great contributors for the team over the past few years. This is also a positive sign for us. Hope all these three can keep themselves fresh for the next couple of months. It is enough if they use their experience on the field tomorrow,” he said.
Responding to a question about the India-Pakistan match, Rohit said, “People talk a lot about the rivalry between the two countries. But for us, as a team, we have an opponent to play against. We want to see what we can do to beat them. We have to do the right things on the field. Doing will help us. So let’s try to do that,” he said.
