Bangkok: India has bagged 27 medals in the ongoing Asian Athletics Championships and is ranked third in the medals tally. India won 6 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals.
The Asian Athletics Championship series was held in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. Sportsmen and women from 42 countries participated in it. The series was held from July 12 to 16. On the final day, the Indian players won a total of 13 medals. This includes eight silver and 5 bronze.
Ajay Kumar, Abdullah Abubakar, Tajinderpal Singh, Jyoti Erraji, 400m relay (Rajesh, Aishwarya, Amoj, Suba) and Parul Chaudhary won gold for India.
Japan topped the medal list. The country won 37 medals including 16 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze. China took second place. China won 22 medals including 8 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze.
