Gaura Gauri Puja was celebrated in Chhattisgarh state. The state CM Bhupesh Baghel also attended the event. However, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel revealed that whipping was part of the ritual of Gaura Gauri Puja. Devotees gathered in large numbers for the grand Gaura Gauri Puja in Janjgir village of Durg district.
But Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel made it clear that he was flogged for the welfare of the people of Chhattisgarh state. He revealed that everyone is equal before Gaura Gauri.. This festival represents equality. Gond people perform this Gaura Gauri Puja during Diwali festival. In this puja, Bhanga first goes to the river bank and brings mud. Then on the same night, Lord Shiva is made in one’s house and Goddess Parvati in another’s house with that clay. After that the welfare of Shiva Parvati is celebrated. This tradition is known as ‘Sota’ in Chhattisgarh.
There are 90 seats in Chhattisgarh Assembly. Elections for 20 seats were held on the 7th of this month. Elections for another 70 seats will be held on November 17. As for the Chhattisgarh Assembly election results, counting of votes will be held on December 3 along with five states.
