At least two railway employees were injured in Ilovaisk in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which became known on January 24.
Preliminary data on the consequences of the shelling was reported on Tuesday, January 24, by the mayor of the city of Khartsyzsk, which is subordinate to Ilovaisk, Victoria Zhukova.
“There was shelling of Ilovaisk, information on the destruction is being specified. Preliminarily, two wounded civilians (railroad employees),” she wrote in the Telegram channel.
Earlier, on January 22, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine reported that Ilovaisk was fired from the Tochka-U missile system. The shooting was recorded at two in the morning.
On January 23, it was also reported that Ukrainian nationalists carried out 18 attacks on various settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic in a day. The shelling was carried out from artillery with a caliber of 155 mm.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
