The incident took place yesterday morning in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The sabotage attempt took place on the track of Gangarar-Soniana section. The track is full of stones and other materials in the area under Gangarar section. North Western Railway CPRO Captain Shashi Kiran said that a case has been registered under the RPF Railway Act.
No. 20979 Udaipur – Jaipur Vande Bharat was coming in and stones were laid on the track. A railway official said that the train could have derailed if the emergency brake had not been applied on time. Senior officials of RPF and police visited the place.
A video of railway officials removing stones from the tracks is circulating on social media. An attempt to subvert Vande Bharat took place on the day the Prime Minister was in Rajasthan. Udaipur – Jaipur Vande Bharat was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th September.
The Udaipur – Jaipur Vande Bharat service is organized in a manner that covers 435 km in 6 hours and 15 minutes. While stone pelting is going on in different parts of the country against Vande Bharat Express, there is also an attempt to sabotage the train by placing stones on the tracks.
