Prayagraj: The three arrested in the murder case of Shadow World Grandfather and former MLA Atiq Ahmed have been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
Shadow world grandfather and former MLA Atiq Ahmed was shot dead last night while being brought by the police to a hospital located in Prayagraj (Allahabad) area of Uttar Pradesh state. Three people involved in the murder have been arrested.
The three are Luvlesh Tiwari from Banda, Mohit alias Sunny from Hamirpur and Arun Kumar Maurya from Kasganj. In this, Arun Kumar Maurya from Kasganj is 18 years old. Others Luvlesh Tiwari is 22 years old and Mohit is 23 years old.
Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were surrounded by reporters as they were brought to the hospital. The three including Luvlesh Tiwari, who came with microphone, ID card and camera in their hands like journalists, suddenly shot Atiq Ahmed with the gun in their hand. Ashraf Ahmed was also shot dead. These scenes were recorded live in the blink of an eye.
Meanwhile, the three arrested have been ordered to be kept in 14-day judicial custody. They were produced before the Prayagraj court and later remanded in judicial custody.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a three-member judicial committee headed by Allahabad High Court Judge (retd) Arvind Kumar Tripathi, Brijesh Kumar Soni and former DGP Subesh Kumar Singh to investigate the murder. The 3-member committee will submit its report to the state government within two months. The Committee was constituted under the Commission of Inquiry Act, 1952.
