The Delhi government has said that it will continue to provide free electricity to all in Delhi. Delhi Energy Minister Atishi on Monday said that the Kejriwal government has no plans to stop power subsidy for any consumer in the state. We are committed to provide 24 hours free power supply. There is not going to be any change in our electricity subsidy.
LG office is deliberately spreading misinformation about it. Atishi said that PM Modi wants to stop the electricity subsidy in Delhi and under the pressure of PMO, LG VK Saxena is trying to obstruct the electricity subsidy. Atishi accuses LG of spreading confusion Atishi has said that the Delhi government has cleared the controversy and confusion created by LG regarding power subsidy. DERC vide letter dated 06 January 2023 to the Delhi Government withdrew its earlier advice to reduce power subsidy to consumers having connections of 5 KV or load above 3 KV.
After a detailed examination of various legal provisions of the Electricity Act 2003 and earlier judgments of the Supreme Court, DERC concluded that it had no legal basis or reason to advise the Delhi Government to withdraw subsidy for any category of consumers. No rights.
Atishi has said that the Delhi government has removed the controversy and confusion created by the LG regarding the power subsidy.
BSES is being benefited in the name of giving subsidy
