The Delhi government has said that it will continue to provide free electricity to all in Delhi. Delhi Energy Minister Atishi on Monday said that the Kejriwal government has no plans to stop power subsidy for any consumer in the state. We are committed to provide 24 hours free power supply. There is not going to be any change in our electricity subsidy.

LG office is deliberately spreading misinformation about it. Atishi said that PM Modi wants to stop the electricity subsidy in Delhi and under the pressure of PMO, LG VK Saxena is trying to obstruct the electricity subsidy. The LG has put pressure on the power department to withdraw Delhi government’s electricity subsidy on the basis of wrong legal advice.

Atishi accuses LG of spreading confusion Atishi has said that the Delhi government has cleared the controversy and confusion created by LG regarding power subsidy. DERC vide letter dated 06 January 2023 to the Delhi Government withdrew its earlier advice to reduce power subsidy to consumers having connections of 5 KV or load above 3 KV.

After a detailed examination of various legal provisions of the Electricity Act 2003 and earlier judgments of the Supreme Court, DERC concluded that it had no legal basis or reason to advise the Delhi Government to withdraw subsidy for any category of consumers. No rights.

Atishi has said that the Delhi government has removed the controversy and confusion created by the LG regarding the power subsidy.

BSES is being benefited in the name of giving subsidy
After Energy Minister Atishi accused PM Modi of stopping power subsidy and the Lt Governor of misleading the people of Delhi in the matter of stopping power subsidy, sources in the Raj Niwas office have said that In the name of giving subsidy to poor people, private company discoms are benefiting BSES owned by Ambani.

Raj Nivas sources said that after the discoms were caught red-handed in the act of providing undue financial benefits to Ambani, the AAP government and its cadres are trying to make baseless, false and misleading statements. Now that his scam of helping discoms get bribes has come to light, he is trying to redeem himself in the public eye.

The Raj Niwas office has said that the LG has not even suggested in any of its letters let alone asking the Delhi government to withdraw the subsidy on electricity. He has repeatedly said that instead of giving subsidy to private power companies, it should be given directly to the poor in their accounts who are eligible for subsidy. The LG office has said that it would be better if the DERC orders were withdrawn, which were apparently withdrawn after the scam came to light. Stop misleading people in this matter.
