BCCI also rested the senior players for the ODI series against the Kiwis. In this series Shikhar Dhawan will be the captain while Rishabh Pant will act as the vice captain. In the first match, Shikhar Dhawan-Gil pair entered the ring as openers. Rishabh Pant, who was promoted as an opener in T20s, went back to the middle order. They say that this ground is suitable for batting. The boundaries directly to the pitch are very small and hence huge scores are expected to be recorded. There is no rain forecast for this match.
On the other hand, Kiwis captain Kane Williamson, who played only six ODIs after the 2019 ODI World Cup, is again playing in this series against India. New Zealand is currently ranked number one in ODIs. The last time India played on New Zealand soil, they lost the ODI series by 0-3. This series will also entertain the cricket fans. After winning the three T20 series against New Zealand by 1-0, Team India is now looking forward to the ODI series.
