Melbourne: Australia’s T20 cricket captain Aaron Finch has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. Under his leadership, the Australian team won the T20 World Cup in 2021.

Regarding retirement, Aaron Finch said in his Twitter post; I realize that I will not be able to play till the T20 World Cup in 2024. In the interest of the team, this is the right time for me to retire. This is the right time for the team management to appoint a new captain and make plans for the T20 World Cup.
Playing for Australia for 12 years and playing with some of the greatest players is the honor of my life. I will never forget the moment when I won the T20 World Cup for the first time and the ODI World Cup in 2015. Aaron Finch made his T20 debut for Australia in January 2011. He played 103 T20 Internationals and scored 3,120 runs at an average of 34.28 with two centuries and 19 fifties. His strike rate is 142.53. Aaron Finch scored 172 runs off 76 balls with 10 sixes and 16 fours in the 2018 T20 cricket match held in Harare against Zimbabwe. With this, he has created the record of highest run scorer in international T20 cricket tournament.
