Australian Open | Banned in 2022, champion in 2023: Djokovic feat

Melbourne: The Australian government banned Serbia’s Djokovic from last year’s Australian Open tennis tournament. In the current year, he won the men’s singles title at the same Australian Open.

It’s not just success. This is the tenth time he has won the Australian Open, one of the Grand Slam series. The 35-year-old has won the men’s singles title at the Australian Open in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023. He also equaled the record for most Grand Slam titles in men’s singles with this win. Both Nadal and Djokovic have won the title 22 times.

Last year, he was banned from the Australian Open because he did not get the corona vaccine. He fought a legal battle against it. However, he could not participate last time. It is noteworthy that this year he was allowed to participate in the series.

Djokovic defeated Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-6(5) in the men’s singles final of the ongoing Australian Open.
