The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that units of the Armenian armed forces carried out “a large-scale provocation in the Dashkesan, Kalbajar and Lachin directions of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border.”

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan also reported losses among personnel and damage to military infrastructure. The Azerbaijani army is taking measures to suppress the firing points of the Armenian Armed Forces and prevent the expansion of the scale of military clashes.
The ministry also reported losses in military equipment and manpower of the Armenian Armed Forces, NSN writes. In addition, they said that in the last month, shelling from weapons of various calibers by Armenia was “intense and systematic.”
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stressed that the units of its troops are not aimed at civilian infrastructure.
Also on September 13, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that the Azerbaijani armed forces were firing artillery at the border Armenian cities, the 360 TV channel reported. The Defense Ministry also spoke about the use of drones by Azerbaijan, the Zvezda TV channel notes.

Amid the escalation, it became known that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived at the government building. He is expected to hold an emergency meeting of the country’s Security Council.
Later, the Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia reported that Pashinyan, amid the escalation on the border with Azerbaijan, had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
