New Delhi. Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna have got relief from the Supreme Court in the misleading advertisement case. The court has accepted the apology of both. With this, the Supreme Court has closed this case related to contempt. Let us tell you that Baba Ramdev had presented an apology in the Supreme Court and promised not to give misleading advertisements in future.
Let us tell you that this case was filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in the year 2022. In this, Baba Ramdev’s company Patanjali was accused of defaming the Kovid vaccine drive and the modern medical system. Advocate Gautam Talukdar said that the court has closed the case on the basis of the undertakings given by Ramdev (Baba Ramdev), Acharya Balkrishna and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited.
Earlier on May 14, the Supreme Court had reserved its order on the contempt notice. The apex court is hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), alleging a defamatory campaign against the Covid vaccination drive and modern systems of medicine.
In its November 21, 2023 order, the apex court had said that the counsel representing Patanjali Ayurveda had assured the court that no laws would be violated from now onwards. Patanjali Ayurveda had told the court that no laws relating to the advertisement or branding of the products manufactured and marketed would be violated.
