Udaipur: Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju has said that the huge backlog of cases in the courts is due to the deficiency in the judicial system.
The seminar was organized by the Law Commission of India at Sukhatia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan. In this, Law Minister Kiran Rijiju attended and addressed. He said then: “There are more than 4.90 crore cases pending in Indian courts. This backlog of cases is not good for any society or country.
There are various reasons for the high backlog of cases. The condition of judges is very bad. A judge deals with 50 – 60 cases per day. Judges decide various cases. But, new cases are coming twice. It is natural for the public to wonder why so many cases are pending. They don’t know how much workload the judges have. Actually it is not the fault of the judges; Crime in the Justice Department System.
Among the various solutions to this problem, one of the most important is the digitization of the justice sector. The central government is making an effort to create a paper-free justice department. In this, we have progressed by half. Both High Courts and Lower Courts are technically well structured. Similarly, various High Courts are working well in conducting cases through video conferencing.
Our present way of life is becoming dangerous to our existence. Despite progress in the economy, other dangers surround us. We must do our fair share to protect the earth. A paperless justice system and digitized justice system are environmentally friendly initiatives. India is the pioneer country in the world in the field of green energy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is the best vision for the world,” said Kiran Rijiju.
