BAFTA: British Academy Award Lost To RRR.. Is That The Only Reason?

RRR, directed by legendary director Rajamouli, has been winning consecutive awards at international film festivals. Most recently, it is known that the song Natu Natu from RRR’s film won the Golden Globe in the category of Best Original Score. This has showered praise on the RRR team across the country. It also won the Best Foreign Language Film and Best Song awards at the 28th edition of the Los Angeles Critics’ Choice Awards. But it was a surprise that it did not make it to the 76th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) nominations list.

But apart from RRR, Shaunak Sen’s Indian documentary ‘All that Breaths’ was nominated in the Best Documentary list. It is competing with The Beauty and the Bloodshed, Moonaj’s Daydream, Fire of Love, Navalny. The BAFTA Awards ceremony will be held on February 19 at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.

Meanwhile, fans are expressing their disappointment on social media that RRR did not get a place in the BAFTA Awards. He commented that it doesn’t matter if he is not nominated as he has already won a place in people’s hearts. But many foreign netizens are of the opinion that BAFTA was missed because of the theme of this movie. It is being discussed that half of the nominated films are American, especially in the foreign language category, and RRR has been treated unfairly. But the point is also heard that RRR was not nominated because it was directed against British colonialism.

But RRR.. has been nominated for Oscar awards in 11 categories like Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture. There is a possibility. The final list of these nominations will be released on January 24.

It is known that Rajamouli’s team has conducted promotions through RRR premieres in America to increase the score for Oscar nominations. After the promotions ended, director Rajamouli, music director Keeravani, Tarak, Ramcharan and others recently returned to India. Currently, Jakkanna is likely to focus on her next project.
