Yesterday, the coronation ceremony took place at the Emirates Palace Hotel, where the President of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, Chairman of the Supreme Committee, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, and Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned the world champion, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, with the gold medal, and the second, Salem Malhouf, with the silver medal, and the Spaniard, Juma. Ponti won the bronze medal, in the singles category.
The Bahrain team won the team gold, the French team won the silver medal, and the Portugal team won the bronze medal.
For his part, the rider, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, leader of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, expressed his happiness at winning the World Endurance Championship title for a distance of 160 km in Boudheib International Village, praising the distinguished level of the UAE in organizing the global event.
He added in press statements that organizing the World Cup confirms the successive successes of the UAE in hosting major tournaments and sporting events, pointing out that the tournament witnessed fierce competition from the various participants from the start of the race in the early morning until the end. Regarding his preparations that preceded the tournament, the captain of the Bahrain team explained that he was keen in the last period to prepare well for the World Cup due to the importance it bears as it brings together the world’s elite knights, wishing success to all knights in the coming period.
The championship was held with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, for a distance of 160 km, with the participation of 122 male and female riders representing 36 countries.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, won the title of the World Endurance Championship, which was held in the Boudheib International Endurance Village in Al Khatim, Abu Dhabi, after he led the horse “Darco La Maggiore” to win the world title and the gold medal in time. The time is 7:36:39 hours, with an average speed of 21.02 km/h.
The UAE national team knight, Salem Malhouf, holder of the title of the 2021 edition, ranked second on horseback “Hala”, recording a time of 7:52:35 hours, at an average speed of 20.31 km / h, and the Spanish jockey Joma Ponte came in third place on “Echo Vols”. , with a time of 7:55:23 hours, with an average speed of 20.19 km/h.
For his part, the President of the International Equestrian Federation, Ingmar de Vos, praised the wonderful organization of the championship from the Boudhieb International Village, and said: “The UAE has succeeded in organizing the World Endurance Championship at all levels, as we aspire that this level will be the basis for organizing global races in the coming period.”
And he continued in a press statement: “Everyone here made tremendous efforts, which led to the success of the event in a good way in all aspects of organisation, technical and television transmission, and the atmosphere in which the competitions took place was good, and the process of transporting the horses to participate in the tournament went smoothly.”
