The draw was attended by Obaid Salem Al Shamsi, Second Vice President of the Football Association and Chairman of the Competitions Committee, Fahad Ismail Al Hosani, Board Member and Vice Chairman of the Committee, Yahya Khalaf Al Matroushi, Board Member and Committee Member, and Mohammed Abdullah Hazam Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Football Association, in addition to club representatives and Competitions Department officials.
The draw for the preliminary qualifiers for the first division clubs qualifying for the round of sixteen of the most expensive tournament, which was drawn electronically, resulted in an exciting confrontation, as Emirates will meet Masfout at the Emirates Stadium, Gulf will meet Dibba at the Gulf Stadium, Fleetwood United will meet Fujairah at the Fujairah Stadium, Al Hamriyah will meet Al Dhaid at the Dhaid Stadium, Hatta will host Al Arabi at its stadium, Al Jazirah Al Hamra will host Al Dhahra at its stadium, and Gulf United will host United, while Al Dhafra qualified directly to the next round considering that the number is odd.
