Bengaluru: 10 km around the Elahanga Air Force Base in Bangalore ahead of the Aero India Air Show. Bengaluru Corporation has banned the sale of meat and non-vegetarian food at a distance.
The 14th ‘Aero India 2023’ air show will be held from February 13 to 17 at the Elahanga Air Base in Bengaluru. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate this exhibition organized by the Central Defense Department.
633 companies from India and 98 companies from more than 40 foreign countries are participating in this. Due to the influx of foreign travelers, heavy police security has been deployed around the Elahanga Air Force base.
In this case, in the order issued by the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation, “10 km around the Elahanga Air Force base from Jan. 30 to Feb. 20 in view of the Aero India Air Show. All types of meat shops including chicken, goat, cow, pig and fish should be closed.
All types of non-vegetarian food is banned in restaurants, pubs, entertainment venues etc. Similarly, the flying of kites and drones is prohibited. Strict action will be taken against those who violate this order under relevant sections of the law,” it has been warned.
Birds like vultures are circling in the sky as meat waste is dumped in public places. A senior official of the corporation said that meat shops have been ordered to be closed ahead of the air show as there is a possibility of them colliding with planes and causing an accident.
Butchers’ Association and Restaurant Owners’ Association have protested this order of Bengaluru Municipal Corporation. “The corporation should control the dumping of meat waste. Apart from that, our livelihood will be affected because we are asked to close the meat shops,” they said.
