Basra Gulf .. The national team weakens its chances of losing against Kuwait

The national team reduced its chances of qualifying for the second round of the Arab Gulf Cup for football by losing a goal to its Kuwaiti counterpart this evening in the second round of the group stage at Al-Mina Stadium in the Iraqi city of Basra.
Al-Abyad’s performance improved slightly compared to the first match, which it lost 2-1 at the hands of Bahrain, but the few opportunities its players got did not rise to the level of causing enough danger to the “Azraq” goal.
The national team players lost focus during the last moments, which the Kuwaiti team benefited from by snatching the match’s only goal in the minute (3 + 90) by its player Ahmed Al-Dhafiri from a set-piece.
Al-Abyad’s chances of qualifying for the semi-finals depended first on the outcome of the match that brought together this evening between Qatar (3 points) and Bahrain (3 points).
