Bayern Munich’s women are stronger than their men!

Today, Saturday, Bayern Munich was crowned champion of the German Women’s Football League (Bundesliga) for the sixth time.
Bayern Munich won at home to Bayer Leverkusen 2-1, ensuring the team led by Norwegian coach Alexander Strauss won the Bundesliga title, as no team can reach the same score as the Bavarian club with two rounds remaining at the end of the season.
Bayern won the title at the expense of Leverkusen, who won the men’s Bundesliga title, ending the absolute dominance of the Bavarian club, which had won the title in the past 11 seasons.
Bayern did not lose in 37 matches in the Women’s German League over two seasons, and their last defeat dates back to October 2022, when they lost to their host Wolfsburg 1-2.
Bayern Munich will meet Wolfsburg next Thursday, in the German Women’s Cup final.
Wolfsburg won the German Women’s Cup nine times in a row, while Bayern won the title once before, in 2012.
Georgia Stanway and Linda Dalman scored for Bayern in the 18th and 27th minutes, then Nikola Krzyzewska responded with a goal for Leverkusen in the 63rd minute.
