Ukraine has launched its own production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Bayraktar TB2, said the head of the office of the President of the country Andriy Yermak on December 24.
“We are expanding our cooperation with Turkey. It all started with the supply of “bayraktars”, and now their production has already started in Ukraine “, – said Ermak in an interview with the” Focus “edition.
He also recalled that engines for Turkish Bayraktar drones are also manufactured in Ukraine.
On December 12, it was reported that the new Ukrainian-Turkish plant will begin to create jet unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the ANKA type, which are capable of acting against air targets, against other drones. They will have Ukrainian engines and the rest of Turkish avionics.
A month earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that the country would purchase a new batch of Bayraktar attack drones from Turkey for the needs of the country’s armed forces. According to him, Ukraine intends to use drones.
On September 29, the Bayraktar Savunma company and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense signed an agreement on the construction of a center in the Kiev region, in which they will conduct personnel training, as well as test and service the Turkish Bayraktar UAVs.
