BCCI plans to earn Rs 4,000 crore through licensing of women’s IPL teams

Mumbai: The auction for the teams participating in the women’s IPL T20 cricket series will be held in Mumbai tomorrow. There are reports that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to earn around Rs 4000 crore through the licenses of 5 teams.

According to market experts, each team’s license could fetch between Rs 500 crore and Rs 600 crore. It is also expected to go up to Rs.800 crore. More than 30 companies including Adani Group, Torrent Group, Haltram, Kotak, Aditya Birla Group have applied for the licenses of the 5 teams. Also, owners of men’s IPL teams are also showing interest in buying a women’s IPL team. Women’s IPL is scheduled to be held in March.
