José María Izázaga, composer of the popular song ‘El cervecero’, is in the middle of a disagreement with the footballer Christian Cueva who did not fulfill his commitment to participate in a musical event. Despite having signed an agreement and given the necessary permission for the use of the song, the Cienciano player did not appear at the scheduled show, which has caused the composer annoyance.
The contract signed between both parties specified that Cueva would appear at an event between December 1 and January 3, but the footballer failed to comply with the agreement. Izázaga, who also granted permission to the singer Pamela Franco, assures that the singer complied with what was agreed, but Cueva did not. The author of the cumbia pointed out that the lack of response from ‘Aladino’ is complicating the situation and does not rule out resorting to legal means if there is no solution.
José María Izázaga outraged with Christian Cueva
In an exclusive interview for the program ‘Un día en el mall’, José María Izázaga detailed that the negotiations for the formal presentation of Cueva took place between November 26 and 27 at the Mi Barrunto cebichería, where they met with Martín Pinto, the manager of Pamela Franco . At that meeting, Cueva assured: “From December 1 to January 3, I can appear with you because afterwards I will dedicate myself to my sports work.” However, the footballer did not appear at the event at the Royal House, which generated discomfort in Izázaga, who stressed: “I kept my word, I gave permission and I will not retract what I signed.”
José María Izázaga called on Christian Cueva to comply with the agreement. “If he charges S/40,000 per presentation, the most fair thing would be for him to pay me that amount,” said the author of ‘The Brewer’, adding that he is willing to reach an amicable agreement. Despite his frustration, Izázaga maintains a conciliatory stance and stated that “negotiating will fix everything,” but he also warned that if there is no solution, he will proceed through legal channels. “If you’re listening to me, be a gentleman and answer the calls,” the composer concluded firmly.
