Even moderator Elton (52) lost track here …
A game on the ProSieben show “Beat the celebrity” almost threatened to go beyond the scope of the live broadcast on Saturday evening. The TV viewers saw two candidates who were sometimes overwhelmed, constant interruptions and a nasty fall right at the beginning. The breakdown match was only over after 20 minutes.
This time the older semester of the German show industry faced the power struggle for 100,000 euros. The actors Heiner Lauterbach (70) and Uwe Ochsenknecht (67) have been close friends for many years. Nevertheless, a small error was clarified right at the beginning. Ochsenknecht believed that buddy Heiner said: “He has a high school diploma and is definitely smarter than me.” However, he was misinformed. Lauterbach resolved: “I don’t have a high school diploma, Uwe.”
Moderator Elton kept his good mood despite everything
In terms of fitness, both were in the best position. Commentator Ron Ringguth (57) couldn’t resist a few tips. He said to the young viewers: “If you see people of that age, offer them a seat.” When the opponents were asked to turn off illuminated surfaces with their vehicles in a challenge, the commentator joked macabrely: “Normally when you get older you say: ‘ Don’t go into the light.’”
What would go wrong in the fifth game, even the “Schlag den Star” veteran could not have guessed. The actors were supposed to jump on the bicycle and collect rings from a string with a lance screwed to it. Whoever crosses the finish line first with all five rings wins the round. Elton on the most important rule of the game: “When picking up the rings, your feet must not touch the ground.”
Shortly afterwards the big shock: Uwe Ochsenknecht lay down with his bike. Although the fall looked pretty nasty, he quickly got back up. But the spear on his bike was bent. Ringguth was at a loss. “What are we doing there?” While Elton was about to straighten the lance, a spare wheel was brought. Heiner Lauterbach, a very fair sportsman, waited so long on his route.
Both cinema stars then had a hard time with the rings. Ochsenknecht protested: “The rod in front is too low for me!” He also didn’t want to believe Ringguth that the rings on the cord all hang at the same height. In the middle of the game, Elton bent the lance back up to the nagging acting star. But it wasn’t right either. Ochsenknecht quite annoyed: “Now it’s too high!”
Lauterbach picked up rings on the other side, but lost them again while driving. They had to be attached to the cord again and again by an employee. Elton also kept dashing onto the track to at least make sure that his rules were being followed. The match dragged on forever. The moderator even quarreled with his job for fun. Elton groaned, “Dear young people, learn a decent job.”
He even compared both wheels to see if the lances were the same height. Ochsenknecht was particularly picky. In between there was even an advertisement. Ringguth was happy when the celebrity candidates cleared at least one ring. If one fell down, Elton Lauterbach had to ask several times: “Stop, Heiner!” The host almost desperate: “I’m dreaming of that tonight.”
Eventually, the actors finally got the hang of it. But the strength was slowly fading away. In the end, Ochsenknecht was able to win all three rounds and scored important points. That evening, the live show was accompanied by minor glitches. The wrong score was displayed several times in the game “Guess Words”. During another challenge, the lights didn’t come on because the plug wasn’t in the socket. Elton joked: “These are the colleagues from the technical department. Can pick up their papers tomorrow.”
The opponents gave nothing during the whole time. The lead kept changing. For example, Lauterbach was able to solve puzzles more successfully and cleared a mountain of tin cans faster with Frisbees. Among other things, Ochsenknecht won the classic “Blamieren oder Kassen” and the fencing duel.
The score after the fifteenth game: a tie 60 to 60. Elton couldn’t believe it. “You’re probably kidding me?!” His candidates had to stab. An inverted cup should be lowered into an open cup using only one hand.
At 01:39 Uwe Ochsenknecht was the only one to succeed. Because his opponent consistently failed, he finally won the jackpot of 100,000 euros.
