Behavior Interactive (Dead By Daylight, Meet Your Maker) has confirmed layoffs at the company.
Kotaku announced yesterday that they had received information that around 45 company employees had been fired at the Montreal studio, Behavior’s headquarters.
The company shared this statement with Eurogamer: “Recent changes to market conditions have forced us to adjust the scale of several Behavior projects. In these situations, our preference is always to reallocate talent to other projects. Unfortunately, not always “We have this option. These layoffs represent less than 3 percent of our staff.”
The figure provided appears to corroborate the initial report; Behavior Interactive has approximately 1,300 employees.
The Kotaku report indicated that those affected belonged to different departments.
The year 2024 begins in a similar way to how 2023 ended, with numerous rounds of layoffs in companies in the video game sector such as Unity, Twitch, Discord or CI Games.
