Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao said that CM KCR has appointed a committee on Godavari floods as per his promise. He posted on social media that ‘CM KCR, who promised to provide a permanent solution to the people of Bhadrachalam from the Godavari floods, has appointed a special committee with four chief engineers as per his promise’.
Responding to Rega Kantarao’s post.. ‘Government aid of Rs.10,000 has been received by some people. A netizen commented that many people still need to receive it, sir. Another netizen commented that ‘those whose houses really collapsed in Ashwapuram mandal have not received compensation’. On the other hand.. Recently heavy rains for four days and the flood flow coming from Maharashtra at the top, the water level of Godavari at Bhadrachalam has once again reached a dangerous level.
Telangana is alleging that Bhadrachalam is getting flooded due to AP government increasing the height of Polavaram Dam. Minister Puvwada Ajay Kumar demanded that 5 villages in flooded mandals should be merged back into Telangana. These comments were rejected by AP ministers. Meanwhile, the state government hopes to protect Bhadrachalam and its surrounding villages from flooding by constructing embankments and other measures.
