New Delhi: His 102nd death anniversary was observed at Mahakavi Subbaramania Bharatiyar’s residence in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In this, professors of Banaras Hindu University and Tamil students paid respects by garlanding Bharatiyar’s idols.
Mahakavi Bharatiyar lived for a few years in a house in Padithura area called Hanuman Ghat on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi. His sister’s family lives here now. The 102nd death anniversary of Mahakavi Bharatiyar was observed in this house. Banaras Hindu University’s Department of Indian Languages and its Tamil wing students came to pay their respects to Mahakavi Bharatiyar.
