Famous film actor and former MP Manchu Mohan Babu, his sons Manchu Vishnu and Manoj got a huge relief in the High Court. They got relief in the case registered on the charges of violating the Election Code and staging a dharna. In connection with this case, the High Court has issued an interim order staying the proceedings in the Tirupati court for 8 weeks.
As part of the trial of this case, on June 28 this year, Mohan Babu along with his sons attended the trial in the Tirupati court. After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the case to September 30 for further hearing. Mohan Babu filed a petition in the High Court. The High Court, which conducted the investigation, gave an interim order suspending the trial in the Tirupati court for 8 weeks in connection with this case. Also, issuing notices to the defendants to file a counter, adjourned the further hearing.
On March 22, 2019, Mohan Babu and his sons staged a sit-in dharna on the Tirupati-Madanapalle national highway claiming that the then TDP government had not paid the fee reimbursement. However, as the Election Code was already in force, a case was registered against Mohan Babu, his sons Vishnu, Manoj, AO Tulsi Naidu and PRO Satish of Sri Vidyaniketan Educational Institutions for violation of the code. Chandragiri police registered a case against them for causing trouble to the motorists who came on the road and did not take police permission for the dharna. This is being investigated in the court since then.
