New Delhi: BJP is contesting in total 60 constituencies in Meghalaya and 20 constituencies in Nagaland.
Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in the northeastern state of Tripura on the 16th and in Meghalaya and Nagaland on the 27th. BJP Secretary Rituraj Sinha gave an interview to reporters in Delhi yesterday about the Meghalaya and Nagaland elections. He said:
The central government is providing generous financial support for the development of North Eastern states. But due to the ineffectiveness of the state governments, there has been a slowdown in the work of various projects. In addition to this, the people are very dissatisfied with the corruption issues.
People of North Eastern states have a lot of faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Keeping this in view, BJP will contest in all 60 assembly constituencies of Meghalaya. Let’s campaign with the focus on Modi’s Shakti.
BJP will contest 20 out of 60 constituencies in Nagaland. Alliance parties will contest the remaining 40 constituencies. BJP will win the assembly elections in Meghalaya and Nagaland.
He said this.
Meghalaya is ruled by the National People’s Party coalition led by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. BJP was also part of this coalition government. The BJP, which withdrew from the alliance due to differences of opinion, is contesting the upcoming assembly elections alone. BJP is contesting against the ruling coalition in all 60 constituencies.
Nagaland is ruled by the National Democratic Progressive Party (NDP) coalition led by Chief Minister Nayibyu Rio. The BJP, which is part of this alliance, is contesting in 20 constituencies.
